New in Shop: Baby Shower Invitations 03.09.15

It’s been a crazy couple weeks over here! I’ve been on bed rest for most it and it has not been too much fun. You’d think with all the time I have on bed rest I’d be caught up on blogging and whatnot. But the stress and fear of having pregnancy complications have sucked the desire out of me to do just about anything. I have a follow up appointment on Wednesday to see how things are progressing. But thankfully, I’ve been doing much better thanks to the help of all the wonderful people in my life!

Yesterday I posted a new baby shower party line for girls and boys in my etsy shop. There are personalized digital shower invitations that can be printed at home or at a printing shop. I also have coordinating games such as price is right, what’s in your purse, and much more! There will also be an identical line in ‘mint’ color for gender neutral showers. I’ll be populating the shop with many more designs in the coming weeks so keep checking back!

Blueberry Cheesecake Recipe 02.18.15

I’ve been craving my mom’s blueberry cheesecake this entire pregnancy. Since it was Valentine’s weekend, I figured it’s a good time as ever to make it.  This recipe is very light for those who are not a fan of the rich and dense cheesecake. You can also easily make this a raspberry, strawberry, or whatever kind of cheesecake you like most! In order to make this, you’ll need a cheesecake pan like this one or this one. Otherwise you won’t be able to unmold it. Also, make sure the lemon jello you get is not for pudding cause they look identical (so this one, not this one). Enjoy!

Here’s the recipe:

Exciting News! 02.10.15

You can find this pregnancy announcement photo prop here!

I’m so excited to share with you all that we’re expecting baby #2! Sorry for the blurry sign, Luke wouldn’t stop fidgeting! But yes, sibling rivalry is coming to our home August 2015 and we couldn’t be more thankful.  We’ve always wanted to give Luke a brother or a sister close in age.  So once he turned a 1.5 years old, we started trying. To our dismay, this time around it took us much longer to conceive than it did with Luke (we got pregnant within 3 months with him). This time around, it took us over a year! We were getting to a point of accepting that maybe God did not want to bless us with another child. Although a little sad, we trusted in his timing and gave our plans into his hands, letting go of all our expectations and worries. A few months after doing that, we were so surprised to find out that we’re pregnant!  It’s always better not to stress about meeting my own expectations and just relax and trust in God’s timetable.

So I might not have gotten the desired 2 – 2.5 years between siblings (they will be 3.3 years apart), but I learned to put my trust in God’s plans and not stress myself and my body out in order to accomplish something that might not even be in God’s will for me. So much peace and joy comes when we surrender our plans to him! Let go and let God!

Come along with me on this journey as I now get to design two bedrooms: a nursery and a toddler room! I’ll hold off on any nursery planning until we find out the sex of the baby (late March).

It’s all about metal and wood in this nursery design. I love the industrial cool feel against the wooden warm tones and textures. This boy’s nursery can easily be adapted into a toddler’s room as your baby boy grows up to be little man. I especially love this dresser here.

I have to say, this is one of my favorite boards for a girl nursery to date! I absolutely love the black and pink accents and soft wooden tones. I know that chair is not adequate for a nursery, but I just had to share it with you all! Here’s a rocker with similar color/wood tones that’s more fitting.
